The Leefield Safety Council would like to hear from you!

Hello Lee Ridge & Richfield residents,

Thank you for expressing interest in community events and safety initiatives!

As you may know, the Leefield Community League has partnered with REACH Edmonton Council for Safe Communities to address safety and well-being concerns in the Lee Ridge & Richfield neighbourhoods.  Perhaps you have purchased a community league membership, filled out a survey, attended our Safety Social or received a door hanger or other information about this initiative.  We hope to continue hosting events such as our Safety Social, where community groups came together to offer a free family BBQ with games, activities and information about what resources are available to our residents.

By gathering community feedback in various ways, we have identified six areas of interest to explore further.

Please click on the link for this Google document and click on what items you might be interested in.  Once we receive some responses, we will reach out to you about going ahead!  https://forms.gle/YeEu3rk6ocxZL5FZ8

Here are the options to choose from:
  1. Walking Groups!

Our first walking group will be Wednesday July 6 from 7-8 pm at the hall!

Besides fresh air, exercise and camaraderie, it is considered an excellent way to keep our eyes on our neighbourhood and keep things safer! You can have baby stroller groups, dog walking groups, stick walking, short distance, long distance, day or evening etc.

  1. Clean ups! This can be done on your own by requesting a clean up kit from us or we can have an hour or two event to make it more social and cover larger scale areas.

  1. Coffee with a Peace Officer! Would you like an opportunity to meet with a EPS officer to have some informal chat time?  We can set that up at the Leefield Community League.

  1. Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch signage! If we have at least 25 people reply back with their name, mailing address (to confirm you are a resident within the area) and email address, we can get metal signage posted on your street to indicate this is a safe area with neighbours that keep an eye out for each other.

  1. Join the Leefield Safety Council! Do you want to hear about initiatives first hand, do you have ideas to share, do you want to be a greater part of keeping our community safe and vibrant?  We can always use more like-minded community members on the committee - we meet via Zoom for an hour every month or two.

  1. Volunteer! Perhaps you would like to help out at your local community league? Leefield has fun events throughout the year like outdoor movie nights, tween dances, bingos, holiday parties and much more. Find more info at: www.leefield.ca

Thank you for taking the time to read this over and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
(If possible, please reply by June 30 so we have time to organize some summer events!)

Leefield Community League completes solar panel installation!

After careful planning began in 2020, our solar panel project has been completed!

We are very grateful for funding from the City of Edmonton, Government of Alberta and the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre that helped bring our vision to life!

Thank you to Soltek Roofing & Solar who did an amazing job with design and installation!

Please see the poster below with information about the project and contact us if you have any questions!
